Privacy Policy

This page is maintained by Apollon Games to answer common privacy questions about Gods of the Grid. It describes what the game collects, why, and the choices available to you.

Last updated: 23 August 2026.

Gods of the Grid (“the game”, “we”) is made by Apollon Games. This policy explains what the game collects, why, and your choices. The game has no accounts, no ads, and does not sell your data.

What we collect

  • A display name you choose. It is shown next to your score on the global leaderboard, so it is public. Please do not use your real name if you want to stay anonymous.
  • Gameplay data: your scores, run progress and statistics, and your cloud save, so your progress is backed up and the leaderboard and daily challenge work.
  • Anonymous identifiers: an app-generated anonymous ID used only to store your cloud save and leaderboard entry, plus standard analytics identifiers.
  • Basic diagnostics such as error reports, to help us find and fix problems.
  • Purchase information: the fact that you bought the game, and the amount and currency, so we can measure whether our advertising is working. We never see your payment details.
  • Approximate location: your rough region or city, worked out from your IP address by the services listed below. This is used for analytics and to detect fraudulent installs. We do not collect your precise location and the app never asks for location access.

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect your real name, email address, phone number, postal address, precise location, contacts, photos, or your payment details. Any purchase of the game is handled entirely by the store you bought it from (the App Store, Google Play or Steam); the game never sees your payment details.

Why we collect it

  • To provide cloud saves, the global leaderboard, and the daily challenge (app functionality).
  • To understand how the game is played and improve it (analytics).
  • To measure whether our own advertising is working (advertising measurement).

Who processes it

  • Supabase, which hosts the game's database and backend (cloud saves, leaderboard, gameplay events).
  • Google Analytics, for anonymous usage analytics.
  • AppsFlyer: a mobile measurement service, used only in the Android, iPhone and iPad apps, to tell which advertising campaign led someone to install the game. Its privacy policy is at https://www.appsflyer.com/legal/services-privacy-policy/.
  • RevenueCat: which runs purchases and remembers what you have unlocked. It receives an anonymous customer identifier and the fact and value of a purchase.

All data is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.

Advertising measurement

The mobile versions of the game use AppsFlyer to understand which advertising campaigns lead people to install it. This is used only to measure our own advertising. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads inside the game.

When you install the app, AppsFlyer may collect:

  • an identifier assigned by AppsFlyer, and, on Android, your device's advertising ID
  • basic device and installation information, such as device model, operating system version, language, screen size, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the referrer that brought you to the store listing
  • the fact that an install or an in-app purchase took place, and the amount and currency of a purchase

AppsFlyer processes this on our behalf, and shares attribution results with the advertising platform a given install came from.

You can limit this at any time from your device. On Android, open Settings, then Privacy, then Ads, where you can delete or reset your advertising ID and opt out of personalised advertising. Deleting the advertising ID stops the game from receiving it. On iPhone and iPad the app does not read your advertising identifier at all.

This applies to the Android, iPhone and iPad apps. The browser version, the itch.io version and the Steam version of the game contain no advertising measurement software.

Data retention and deletion

Your cloud save and leaderboard entry are kept while the online service operates. Because the game uses an anonymous ID and no account, contact us at the email below to request deletion of your data and we will remove it.

Children

Gods of the Grid is not directed to children under 13 and is intended for players aged 13 and over.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top.
